Elah was the king of Israel and the son of Baasha. He ruled for two years, from 896�894 BC. Elah succeeded his father as king and his reign was marked by corruption and misrule. He was assassinated by his own commander, Zimri, who then became king. Elah's reign ended after just two years, and he was remembered as a weak and ineffective ruler.
