nephew of Abraham

Lot was a biblical figure from the Book of Genesis. He was the nephew of Abraham and the son of Haran. Lot's father died before Abraham and Lot left Ur of the Chaldees. Lot and Abraham traveled together to the land of Canaan. Lot was known for his hospitality and righteousness. Lot was best known for his role in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. When two angels visited Lot in Sodom, Lot offered them hospitality and protection from the wickedness of the city. Lot's hospitality was so great that the angels warned him to flee the city before it was destroyed. Lot and his family escaped the destruction, but Lot's wife disobeyed the angels and looked back, turning into a pillar of salt. Lot had two daughters, who were born to him and his wife in Sodom. After the destruction of Sodom, Lot and his daughters lived in a cave in the mountains. To ensure the survival of their family, Lot's daughters got him drunk and had children with him. These children became the ancestors of the Moabites and Ammonites. Lot is best known for his hospitality and righteousness, as well as his role in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. He is also remembered for his daughters' actions in ensuring the survival of their family.
