Mesha was a biblical figure who is best known for his role in the Moabite revolt against the Kingdom of Israel. He was the son of King Chemosh-melek of Moab and the brother of King Hadadezer of Zobah. Mesha is mentioned in the Bible in the Books of Kings and Chronicles. He is credited with leading the Moabite revolt against the Kingdom of Israel in the 9th century BC. He was successful in driving the Israelites out of Moab and reclaiming the land for his people. Mesha is also known for his dedication to his god, Chemosh. He built a temple to Chemosh and made offerings to him. He also erected a stele, or stone monument, to commemorate his victory over the Israelites.
