The story of Nahari

Nahari, spelled Naharai in the KJV, is a Beerothite who serves as armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah (2 Samuel 23:37). Second Samuel calls him Naharai the Beerothite, and he is named right after Zelek the Ammonite in the roll of David's mighty men. The parallel list in 1 Chronicles gives the same details but spells his place-name Berothite (1 Chronicles 11:39).

Scripture records nothing else about him: no parents, no deeds and no later history.
