The story of Nahum

Nahum was a prophet in the Old Testament of the Bible. He was from the town of Elkosh in the northern kingdom of Israel. He was the son of a man named Hilkiah, and his brother was named Meshullam. Nahum is best known for his book in the Bible, which is also named Nahum. This book is a prophecy of the destruction of Nineveh, the capital of the Assyrian Empire. In it, Nahum predicts the fall of Nineveh and the end of the Assyrian Empire. He also speaks of God's justice and mercy, and of the hope of restoration for the people of Israel. Nahum's prophecy was fulfilled in 612 BC when Nineveh was destroyed by the Babylonians. Nahum is remembered for his powerful words of warning and hope.
