Who was Ruth?

Ruth is a biblical figure best known for her loyalty and faithfulness. She is a Moabite woman who married into the family of Elimelech, a Jewish man from Bethlehem. After Elimelech and his two sons died, Ruth chose to stay with her mother-in-law, Naomi, and accompany her back to Bethlehem. Ruth's loyalty and faithfulness to Naomi was so great that she declared, "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God." Ruth's faithfulness was rewarded when she met Boaz, a relative of Elimelech. Boaz was so impressed with Ruth's loyalty and faithfulness that he married her. Ruth and Boaz had a son, Obed, who was the grandfather of King David. Ruth is best known for her loyalty and faithfulness to Naomi, her mother-in-law, and to God.
