Simon was a biblical figure who is best known for being one of Jesus' twelve apostles. He was the son of Jonah and the brother of Andrew. He was a fisherman from Bethsaida, a town on the Sea of Galilee. Simon was called to be an apostle by Jesus and was given the name Peter, which means "rock".
