Who was Zimri?

Zimri was a biblical figure from the Old Testament. He was the son of Salu, a member of the tribe of Simeon. He is best known for his role in the rebellion against King Elah of Israel. In the ninth century BC, Zimri led a revolt against Elah, the king of Israel. He killed Elah and seized the throne for himself.
