About Exodus 6: God Promises to Deliver the Israelites

God reminds Moses of his promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and confirms that he will free the Israelites from slavery and bring them to the Promised Land.
Commentary
Exodus chapter 6 is the beginning of the Lord's promise to Moses to deliver the Israelites from their bondage in Egypt. In this chapter, the Lord reveals Himself to Moses and tells him that He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He then instructs Moses to go to Pharaoh and demand that he let the Israelites go. The Lord promises to make Pharaoh's heart stubborn so that he will not listen to Moses, but He also promises to bring great plagues upon Egypt if Pharaoh does not comply.
