About Genesis 15: God's Covenant with Abraham

God makes a promise to Abram that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky. God also tells Abram that his descendants will be enslaved for 400 years but then they will be free and will inherit the land.
Commentary
Genesis 15 is a pivotal chapter in the book of Genesis, as it marks the beginning of God's covenant with Abraham. In this chapter, God appears to Abraham in a vision and promises to make him the father of a great nation. Abraham is then asked to bring a number of animals to be sacrificed, and God passes through the pieces, making a covenant with Abraham. This covenant is a sign of God's faithfulness to Abraham and his descendants, and it is a promise that God will be with them and will protect them.
