God was sad that people were only thinking about bad things and doing bad things. He decided to make it rain for forty days and forty nights to clean the earth and start over. But, he saved one man and his family in a big boat called an ark.

Commentary

Genesis 6 is a pivotal chapter in the book of Genesis, as it marks the beginning of the great flood. In this chapter, God sees the wickedness of man and decides to bring a flood to wipe out all of humanity. God tells Noah to build an ark and to take two of every kind of animal on board. Noah obeys God and builds the ark, and God sends the flood to wipe out all of humanity.
