About Numbers 32: Reuben and Gad Inherit East of Jordan

The tribes of Reuben and Gad ask Moses for permission to settle in the land east of the Jordan River.
Commentary
In Numbers 32, we see the tribes of Reuben and Gad, as well as the half-tribe of Manasseh, asking Moses for permission to settle in the land of Gilead, east of the Jordan River. Moses is initially hesitant to grant their request, as he is concerned that they will not fulfill their obligation to help the other tribes in the conquest of the Promised Land. However, after the tribes of Reuben and Gad pledge to send their warriors to fight alongside the other tribes, Moses agrees to their request.
