The story of Amaziah

Amaziah was a biblical figure who was the king of Judah from 797 to 767 BC. He was the son of Joash and the grandson of Ahaziah. He was known for his religious reforms and military successes. Amaziah was a strong believer in the God of Israel and was determined to rid Judah of idolatry. He destroyed the idols and altars of the pagan gods and re-established the worship of the God of Israel. He also reorganized the army and was successful in defeating the Edomites. Amaziah was also known for his arrogance and pride. He boasted of his military successes and was warned by a prophet not to rely on his own strength. He ignored the warning and was defeated by the king of Israel. He was later assassinated by his own people. Amaziah was the father of Uzziah, who succeeded him as king of Judah.
