Context: Colossians 2
5For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
About Colossians 2: Fullness in Christ
Paul warns against false teachings and encourages the Colossians to be rooted and built up in Christ, in whom all the fullness of God dwells. He stresses the importance of walking in Christ, not in human tradition.
Commentary
Colossians 2 is a powerful chapter that speaks to the importance of living a life of faith in Christ. Paul begins by warning the Colossians against false teachers who are trying to lead them astray. He emphasizes that the only way to be truly saved is through faith in Jesus Christ and not through any other means. He then goes on to explain that in Christ, we have been given all the spiritual blessings that we need. We have been forgiven of our sins and have been made alive in Him.
