About Exodus 2: Moses Flees to Midian

Moses kills an Egyptian and flees to Midian, where he marries Zipporah and has a son.
Commentary
Exodus chapter 2 is the story of Moses' birth and his rescue from the Nile River. It begins with the birth of Moses to Amram and Jochebed, who were of the tribe of Levi. Pharaoh had commanded that all male Hebrew children be thrown into the Nile, so Jochebed placed Moses in a basket and set him afloat in the river. Pharaoh's daughter found the basket and took Moses in as her own son.
