Commentary
Exodus 34 is a pivotal chapter in the book of Exodus, as it marks the renewal of the covenant between God and the Israelites. After the Israelites had broken the covenant by worshipping the golden calf, God had threatened to destroy them and start over with Moses. However, Moses interceded on their behalf and God agreed to forgive them.
