Commentary
Exodus 37 is the account of the construction of the Ark of the Covenant, a sacred object that was to be the centerpiece of the Tabernacle. This chapter begins with a description of the Ark, which was made of acacia wood and overlaid with gold. It was to be two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high. It was to have a lid of pure gold, and two cherubim of gold were to be placed on the lid.
