Exodus 7: The First Plague: Nile River Turned to Blood

God sends plagues upon Egypt, but the Pharaoh still refuses to let the Israelites go.

Commentary

Exodus chapter 7 is the beginning of the plagues that God sends upon Egypt in order to convince Pharaoh to let the Israelites go. In this chapter, God instructs Moses to go to Pharaoh and demand that he let the Israelites go. God also tells Moses that he will harden Pharaoh's heart so that he will not listen. God then tells Moses to tell Aaron to throw down his staff and it will turn into a serpent. This is a sign to Pharaoh that God is with Moses and Aaron.
