Context: Matthew 7
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
About Matthew 7: The Golden Rule and the Narrow Gate

Jesus teaches about judging others and the importance of obeying God.
Commentary
Matthew 7 is a chapter that speaks to the importance of living a life of integrity and humility. Jesus begins by warning against judging others, reminding us that we will be judged by the same standard we use to judge others. He then goes on to discuss the importance of asking, seeking, and knocking in prayer, and how God will answer our prayers if we are sincere. He also speaks of the importance of entering the narrow gate, which is a metaphor for living a life of righteousness and obedience to God's will. Finally, Jesus warns against false prophets and encourages us to be discerning in our faith.
