Commentary
Revelation 17 is a chapter that speaks of the great harlot, Babylon, and her destruction. This chapter is a continuation of the vision that John had in Revelation 16, where he saw the seven angels pouring out the seven bowls of God's wrath. In this chapter, John is given a vision of a woman riding a scarlet beast, which is identified as the great harlot, Babylon. The woman is described as being adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls, and she is holding a golden cup filled with abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.
