About Genesis 19: The Destruction of Sodom

God destroys the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of the wickedness of their inhabitants. Abraham's nephew Lot and his family were saved from the destruction.
Commentary
Genesis 19 is a powerful chapter that tells the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. It begins with two angels arriving in Sodom and being welcomed by Lot, who is Abraham's nephew. Lot offers the angels hospitality and protection from the wickedness of the city. The angels warn Lot and his family to flee the city before it is destroyed. Lot hesitates, but eventually agrees and takes his family out of the city.
