Commentary
In Numbers 27, the Israelites are in the process of preparing to enter the Promised Land. Moses is instructed by God to appoint Joshua as his successor, and to give him the authority to lead the people. This is a significant moment in the history of the Israelites, as it marks the transition from Moses' leadership to Joshua's.
